Online Universities in Canada Form Canadian Virtual University (CVU) Association
The Canadian Virtual University (CVU) is an association of online universities in Canada that specialize in online and distance education. They have joined in collaboration to increase access to quality university education for more students. All of the associated universities are members of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), and in addition many of the programs are accredited in the US as well.
One of the benefits that CVU provides to students is the ability to mix and match courses from several universities and save administrative fees by using a letter of permission form. CVU also makes it easier to pick up a missing course and transfer it to their program at another school, as well as get a head start on university while still in high school. There are many courses that have no prerequisites and are available to students age 16 and up.
